can do some research on which method to use to produce the placard.
I have a deal with a printing company so we might be able to get
something done a bit higher end.
here are the steps to follow for this
PLacard Creation Steps:
1) figure out quantity of sites to placard. July 3-13
I would opt for the entire list from the map
2) site visit. check out locations and fine tune idea. Ju;y 13
3) figure out printing methods and installation methods ( non
intrusive(no nails, screws etc), can easily be removed after 4 days,
will stay up for the duration of the show, address vandalization,
theft and weather issues .
4)Develop content. format content for printing. deadline July 31
Content can be a broad range. I would even suggest taking fragments
of our AM stream of online dialogue and also signing them so that we
all have a name presence on site
Something like (different for each site)
"The psychogeography of locations (....) is a space of shifting
(.......) "

Artist's Meeting 2008
If some statements are general only sign Artist's meeting. Maybe
quote other people such as Guy Debord etc...
5) Aug 1 go to print
6) Generate a "map" of our placards and a book of statements which
would reside at the Architecture center. A one leaf print out map
would also be there that people could take and go visit each site
with. Print this during August
7) Collect materials for installation
8) Plan install crew.
Unfortunately I won't be able to do it as I will be on a 24hr gig- my
job during fashion week- from Sept 4- 12 but I can help set
everything up before hand for the install. I must do all before Aug
15 as after that I might be slammed with work.

Open to Artists in Minnesota and New York City
Deadline: February 13, 2008
The Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant Program awards grants to emerging creative artists in Minnesota and New York City. Funds support periods of travel for the purpose of study, exploration, and growth.
The 2008 Travel and Study Grant Program will support artists working in literature, film/video, and dance. (In 2009, artists working in music, theater, and visual arts will be eligible to apply.) In literature, writers of poetry, fiction, creative
nonfiction, and spoken word may apply. In film, film and video directors may apply. And in dance, choreographers may apply. Minnesota-based executive and program administrators working for nonprofit arts organizations in literature, film/video, or dance are also eligible to apply due to a specific contribution for that category.
Applicants must live in Minnesota or one of the five boroughs of New York City at the time of application and must have lived in that location at least one year prior to the application deadline.
Grants of up to $1,500 each will be awarded for short-term travel of three to six days. Grants of up to $5,000 each will be awarded for trips of one week or longer. The program is designed to support individuals rather than organizations. Multiple-person partnerships may apply on one application form if the monies requested do not exceed $5,000.
Visit the Jerome Foundation Web site for complete program information.
